Before you start the disassembly process make sure the laptop is turned off and battery removed. |

STEP 1
If you look at the screen bezel, you'll find four rubber screw covers located in four bezel corners.

STEP 2
Remove all four rubber covers with a sharp object.
You can glue screw covers somewhere on the bezel so they don't get lost during the disassembly process.
Remove all four screws located under those covers.

STEP 3
Insert your fingers between the screen bezel and LCD screen and start separating the bezel from the screen.
You'll have to wiggle the bezel in order to unlock hidden latches. |

STEP 4
Continue removing the bezel on the top side of the display assembly. |
|
|
|
STEP 5
After you separate the bezel on the top side of the display, move to the lower part of the display. |
|
|
|
STEP 6
Insert a sharp object under the hinge cover and carefully lift it up. |
|
|
|
STEP 7
Remove the screen bezel from the laptop. |

|
|
STEP 8
Toshiba Satellite L450/L450D laptop uses a CCFL backlit LCD screen which requires the inverter board.
The screen inverter mounted on the bottom of the display assembly.
Remove one screw securing the inverter board. |

STEP 9
Remove the inverter board from the laptop.
Disconnect two cables from the left and right sides of the inverter board. |
|
|
|
STEP 10
Remove two screws securing the LCD screen assembly on the top. |
|
|
|
STEP 11
Loosen (do not remove) eight screws securing the display hinges.

|
|

STEP 12
Before you can remove the LCD screen you'll have to disconnect the web camera cable.

|
|
STEP 13
Carefully separate the LCD screen assembly from the display back cover just enough to access screws securing the screen to the mounting brackets.
Remove three screws from the right side of the screen.
Remove three more screws from the left side of the screen.

STEP 14
Now you can separate the screen from the display cover completely and place it face down on the palmrest assembly.

|
STEP 15
You can access the video cable on the back side of the screen.
As you see, the web camera cable is part of the video harness.

STEP 16
Carefully remove clear tape securing the video cable connector.
Unplug the video cable connector from the LCD screen.
|
|
|
|
STEP 17
The LCD screen is ready for the replacement.
Replace the screen and assembly the laptop following all disassembly steps in the reverse direction.
