Toshiba Satellite S855, S855D, S850, S850D screen removal.
In my previous guide I explained how to disassemble the body.
Before you start the disassembly process make sure the laptop is turned off and battery removed.

STEP 1
The screen bezel secured to the display back cover by four screws.
These screws hidden under four seals.
STEP 2
Remove all four screw seals with a sharp object.
Remove four screws securing the screen bezel.
STEP 3
Insert your fingers between the screen and bezel and start separating the bezel from the display.
You'll have to wiggle the bezel in order to unlock hidden latches. |
STEP 4
You can separate the bezel using a guitar pick (or any other piece of plastic).
Insert the guitar pick between the bezel and screen and carefully move it along the side. |
STEP 5
After the bezel separated on the top side of the display, move to the bottom side. |
STEP 6
Remove the screen bezel from the laptop. |
STEP 7
Loosen the left display hinge screw. Do not remove it completely. |
STEP 8
Loosen the right display hinge screw. |
STEP 9
Separate the display back cover from the LCD screen just enough to access screws on the side.
Remove three screws from the right screen mounting bracket. |
STEP 10
Remove three more screws from the left screen mounting bracket. |
STEP 11
Now you can separate the screen from the display cover completely and place it the front side down on the palmrest assembly.
Be careful, the display cable still connected to the motherboard.
STEP 12
Here's where the display cable connected to the screen.
STEP 13
Remove clear tape securing the connection.
Unplug the display cable from the LCD screen.
STEP 14
Remove the screen and replace it with a new one.
You can assemble the display panel following all disassembly steps in the reverse direction.
STEP 15
The easiest way to find the correct replacement screen for your laptop is searching by the model number from the original screen.
The screen model number printed on the back side of the screen.
My Toshiba Satellite S855D laptop had the following screen: LTN156AT24-T01.
